The Community Development Initiatives (CDI) is one of the components under the Community Development Programme Phase 4 (CDP-4), being impelemented by the Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF).
The overall objective of the Community Development Initiatives is to support communities to implement socio-economic development projects aimed at reducing poverty and at improving good governance.
Under the Community Development Initiatives, the Community Development Trust Fund (CDTF) will assist communities to design suitable projects, provide training and guidance in project management and governance, and engage with governmental, non-state-actors and parastatals in the provision of social and economic infrastructure.
The categories of projects to be considered under this call for proposals are:
LOT 1:
Single Sector projects: projects primarily targeted at a specific need of a community. Lot 1 projects will be implemented over a period of not more than 18 months. The project budget will be between 2 and 7.5 million Kenya Shilling.
LOT 2
Integrated sector projects: These are projects that will benefit more than one community and include several components, each generating a particular outcome resulting in specific benefits for many groups of beneficiaries. Lot 2 projects will be implemented over a period of not more than 24 months. The project budget will be between 7.5 and 31.5 million Kenya Shilling.
